Hi I'm Reilly CornwallI'm 18 years old and I'm from Carlsbad, California. I was been a Girl Scout for 13 years now and I'm super excited to have earned my Gold Award.
What is a Gold Award?A Gold Award is a big service project for Girl Scouts who are in High School to raise awareness for an issue that's important to them. It's also the highest honor a Girl Scout can receive. I've chosen to do my project on youth homelessness.

My Project Overview
For my project, Apathy to Empathy, I interviewed almost 30 young men and women who are or were homeless by visiting great local organizations like Stand Up For Kids Oceanside and San Diego Youth Services. I interviewed youth from ages 13 to 26. Now I'm sharing my project through events where I'll be setting up an exhibit of portraits and stories. I'll also be talking about my experiences, collecting donations, and talking about how you can get involved! My goal with this project is to raise awareness for youth homelessness and change the negative stigma surrounding homelessness. I hope to inspire my community members to get involved.
